The Cognitive Ergonomics of Horizontal Defense Typing Games
Zombie Typist implements an authentic horizontal tower defense architecture. Rather than relying on conventional vertical drop paths, enemies emerge from the eastern wilderness and march westward along three independent horizontal terrain lanes toward your citadel wall. This horizontal orientation closely simulates the natural left-to-right eye scanning movements required during standard reading and transcription typing.
Target Prioritization and Spatial Urgency
Under realistic typing examination conditions, candidate stress manifests as tunnel vision—fixating on one word while losing track of time. In Zombie Typist, multiple threats approach simultaneously at different velocities. Players must evaluate which zombie poses the most imminent threat to the castle perimeter and execute the required word sequence swiftly. This training enhances strategic decision-making and peripheral scanning capabilities.
